Just started my oatmeal journey this morning!
Dealing with some angina that’s gotten worse in the past month and figure I better start eating better, stop snacking and get off my graphic designer ass to move around more. Wife got some steel cut quick oats and made me two jars last night. Didn’t cook it just overnighted them with some chia seeds and 2%. In the morning she Added nonfat yogurt, fruits, some maple syrup and that’s it. I couldn’t wait to get to work! Well, it wasn’t horrible, not great either. I used to make the instant stuff when I was a kid and this tasted NOTHING like that. I mean, at all! Yea, there was a lot of other crap in it back then, but I thought I’d at least get some kind of oatmeal flavor from days of yore. Didn’t mind the texture, sweetness was ok. It just tasted like something wasn’t ready yet. Maybe I’ll try cooking it. I really wanna like this stuff!
