6 months old…what are we doing wrong?

6 months old…what are we doing wrong?

Idk how people do it. Our baby girl is a terrible eater - she won’t eat more than 2 to 3 oz at a time and thus eats way more frequently than a 6 month old should. Her night sleep has always been pretty good (thank you merlin) but her naps are so short and huckleberry is saying she should be on a 3 nap schedule?? She takes 5 most days! Sometimes 4. I know she’s capable of connecting sleep cycles because she does it night, but for naps she just perks right up after one cycle and is happy and ready to play. I don’t think I could do anything to get her to go back to sleep. She mostly contact naps at home because she will NOT let me (mom) put her down in the crib, but is put down after being bounced to sleep at grandma’s just fine. Is this healthy/okay? I mean it’s annoying as hell for us and makes it nearly impossible to leave the house because we just can’t seem to stretch her wake windows but if it’s not harming her do we need to be overturning our whole lives to try and “fix” this?

My pediatrician gave us the green light to start oatmeal at her 4 month appt (she was really 4.5 months by that point) but my gut said she wasn’t ready. She still needed lots of assistance to sit up and didn’t seem interested in food at all. Ped said wait until 6 months for other foods, which didn’t really make sense to me to separate the two. Baby will be 6 months on May 14 and in the last couple weeks we’ve tried oatmeal a couple times but she didn’t seem at all interested. I’m wanting to do a combination of mostly BLW with some purées. Is it ok that we haven’t really started yet? Just interested in what other folks are doing.
