Going on a date with someone who is deaf.

I am not deaf and am going on a first date with someone who is in a couple days. I’m really excited to meet her. She knows I don’t know ASL. I really don’t want to mess up the first date by overthinking.

We have been texting each other but if I don’t know ASL, how am I going to communicate with her on the date? I don’t want to be insensitive, I carry a messenger bag because I have to carry epi pens, is there something I should carry with me just in case? Paper pens?

I’m seriously not trolling I actually felt a connection through the text…that whole first impression thing. What can I do to not mess this up? Does anyone have a similar experience? If so what happened?

Testing the waters?

After a huge fight and me saying i just give up on everything and me just going no contact my ex gf (possible narcissist tendencies) sends me “Hi. How are you doing? Hope you’re doing well” text.

So far everyone in my family and friends has said she’s manipulative and even my therapist has said when she contacts me I’m playing her game and I cannot possibly win her game.

Not gonna lie, not texting last night was a powerful feeling but I’m so god damn curious. It’s a trap right? Keep ignoring it? When is the right time to respond? I’m not trying to play games and hurt anyone or try to get her back.

She’s not blocked because we have some intertwined things so I can’t completely block.
