FAAs - Summer Header Schools and Legacy Borrowers
Hey y'all,
I am a counselor at a summer header school with graduate programs that begin before July 1st, 2026.
As far as we have been told, because we are a header school with summer being the first semester of 2026/27, even if the programs start before July 1st, summer start students will not be grandfathered into the current loan limits and will not have access to GPLUS. I believe we are still waiting on final communication from ED, but that seems to be where my administration thinks the water is headed.
I am wondering if other summer header schools are doing the same thing and anticipating no GPLUS? Or hoping we can find the "loophole" for these programs?
(If you are a current or prospective student, please do not take anything said in this post as fact, we have incredibly limited guidance right now and things are still subject to change)
