I first got my glasses at 11 with a power of maybe -0.75 or -1 im not sure. I was careless during covid, and didnt wear my glasses for like 2 years and then at 14 my eyes were at -5. Since then, my eye power keeps worsening by -0.5 or -0.25 every year, but my friends who have double the screentime as me either dont have glasses or their powers don't increase as much as mine do.

Is it just a genetics thing or should i be concerned?

I wanted to ask my optometrist about it today, but I forgot:(

p.s im at -7 now

I'm in 2PUC (Karnataka equivalent of 12th grade) PCMC and will probably get into a mid-tier college with all the entrance exams I've written. I gave up on my dream of becoming an astronaut long ago.

But there's so many people doing engineering and the unemployment rates are scaring me

Not sure if it's fearmongering or actual statistics

But what's the point of doing an engineering degree and ending up unemployed?

Is there any other path I can take that's not too expensive that can ensure I'll actually have a job?
