baby sparrow can't chirp!
we found this baby sparrow in the yard, it was about to be eaten by a cat but luckily my dad spotted it in time. it had fallen below the nest, we could hear more babies inside and could see the parents flying back and forth.
we brought the bird in to make sure that it's not hurt, then we tried leaving it out (watching from a distance) to see if the parents would spot it.
they didn't seem to notice, and on top of that we could see that baby bird was making the chirp/call movement, with no sound coming out. only a slight raspy wheeze when we held it up to the ear.
we waited a bit longer, then decided to hold onto it until it is ready to fly. which should be soon, since it is perching, hopping, and eating well.
baby bird also has a LOT of fleas :-( is this normal for sparrows? or wild birds in general? and why can't it chirp?
