Despite being clearly printed as Meat Puppets - Too High to Die, this disc is actually Wool - Box Set (who I've never heard of before). I looked it up and both albums were released by London Records in 1994, so it must be a manufacturing defect. Of note, it's a Columbia House version (printed in Canada).

This is the first time I've come across an error like this. Rather than replacing it, I decided to just burn a FLAC copy of the actual album and keep the original misprint in one of those 2-sided disc trays.

These iconic toys have been burned into my memory for decades, and I recently discovered they came from the same collection.

At one point during Nevermind they were in my office and Kurt and I had a brief chat about collecting old toys and stuff so I knew he was into them. It was the end cap to a plastic tube filled with candy, maybe an Easter thing. I haven’t been able to find the little guy yet but I found this photo of it. I sure hope I saved him. You can also see that wind up boxer guy I used for DGC Rarities. I took a bunch of photos of it with a 35mm camera and these old macro extension rings you use to shoot really close up. I’ve read in a bunch of places where they say it was Kurt’s duck. I’m not sure how those stories started but now ‘ya know!

The wind up boxer appears to be a 1980s Tomy Bumbling Boxing toy.

In order to help optimize storage, I decided to shrink my 2-disc fat cases into standard size jewel cases (using double-sided flip trays). The coolest part is it’s completely reversible, the artwork just fits! I just stack the extra tray artwork (cover) on top of the rear tray artwork, and the booklet fits perfectly as the new front cover. I do love those old fat cases, but this works better for my storage needs for right now.
