Air Canada is saying no disruption recorded on this journey but they cancelled my flight and rescheduled me 2 days later
Their automated system shows no disruption but basically I had a 1 stop flight to canada from overseas the first leg was with a partner airline and was flight.
When i arrived at my stop i was informed the flight was cancelled and they rebooked us on a different flight 2 days later. No one there in person just an email sent to use.
The partner airline said this was Air Canada's responsibiltiy and wouldn't help.
No one at the gate and we were basically left with no help, so we booked our own hotels and meals for the 2 days.
The email I got said this...
>We're very sorry, this flight is cancelled because of an earlier mechanical issue with the scheduled aircraft.
Mechanical issues can happen if there was a mechanical problem on the scheduled inbound aircraft for this flight, and the aircraft isn't able to return to your departure station before being sent for repairs.
We're now working to rebook you on another flight, and we'll send you an update within the next 30 minutes.
We know this is disruptive to your travel plans. We’re doing our best to get you on your way, and we look forward to welcoming you on board soon.
Air Canada's automated system shows 'no disruptions' on the flight and they just rejected the claim for expenses of the hotel and meals I filed with them.
Do I have any options here ? My understanding is the hotel and meals should be covered under CTA regulations.
I wasn't even applying for the $1,000 per passenger delay thing as they said it was due to a mechanical issue. And I assumed that would not be eligible.
But the food and hotel should be ?
