Is RTL a more mature sounding album than MOP?

When I listen to RIDE THE LIGHTNING I hear an album with real vibe and themes of trench warfare and lovecraftian horror and it feels like an album made for aficionados of heavy metal.... when I listen to MASTER OF PUPPETS I think of adolescents sitting in their bedroom who don't want to do what mom and dad told them. It sounds more like an album made for a younger audience than RTL.

I know that's a silly reductionist way to put it, but just the themes and delivery of the songs sounds more mature on RTL to me.

Do I need a set of A Customs to start gigging?

I want to start gigging, and I need real cymbals (I use low volume cymbals for practice, cant play out with those)

A set of A Customs is not cheap... whats the minimum grade cymbals one should show up to gigs with?

What were home stereos like in the 70's?

Was it common the 70's for people to have high-wattage amps and big speakers with 12-inch woofers?

The studio version of Kashmir doesn't sound very good

I understand that it was a different time, but whenever this song comes on, I immediately think of low bit rate MP3's because that's what it sounds like

And I tbh feel this way about a lot of their later studio output... a lot of the experimentation they did to try and get bigger sounds I think ended up weakening the sonic impact... sometimes its better to use just straight up tried and true production methods like eg. Bostons debut album which sonically blows away Zeppelin mid 70's output in terms of just raw impact

Why does Mike Mangini's cover of Audioslave look so awkward to me?

https://youtu.be/DkxDMEzeVsc?si=V4Ki2KRyai7wEGDg

It starts off okay I guess but once it gets to the chorus it just seems so weird to me the way he is playing it. I know Mangini is high level so I'm hoping someone can educate me what is going on here.

How tall are the band? (Classic lineup)

I always thought Troy was the tallest but I guess Brann is? Some pictures Brent looked the shortest but I think Troy might actually have been the shortest? Which is odd because sometimes Troy looks the tallest. Also how tall was Brent (RIP) and how tall is Bill?
