I have The Zone which I will probably continue to use for the realistic physics, but I'm still a looong ways from being comfortable with taking the manual controls to my Avata 2. So I'm looking into the other options, even if the physics aren't as good as the Zone, because it would just be for familiarizing myself with manual control and taking it back to The Zone after I understand the general feel. Do you guys have specific recommendations?

I ask because the calibration requires that the sticks be centered. But if I start the stick down and then do the calibration, would that work?

Right now I am trying to get the hang of manual control in "The Zone" on Steam, and I am practicing from all the way down, that way I have the same starting point of reference all the time. But now I'm not sure if that's actually beneficial at all.
