It was quite brave of Doctor Bashir to step up and be the first to volunteer for the trial of blood
It happened naturally and without fanfare, but with her promotion to colonel, Kira Nerys became a Captain of Star Trek
Colonel is equivalent to navy captain. She seems to have skipped Lt. Colonel if that's a thing for the Bajoran militia. Given that she took command of the station with Sisko on indefinite leave, she became DS9's "captain."
Of course she's not captain in the sense of top billed actor, but as a main cast character for 7 seasons with 1 as colonel, after 27 years, I'm inclined to think of her as one of the captains of the classic era along with Kirk, Picard, Sisko, Janeway, and Archer.
In-universe, despite being non-Starfleet she had computer authorization on the Defiant as first officer. As colonel and station commander, she would also be captain of the Defiant.
Arguably Sulu and Riker can go up there too, but with Sulu, I don't feel we really got to know him as a commanding officer (as of ST5 he was still helmsman), and with Riker, we know his command style but never got any Titan action in the classic era.
Kira's promotion ceremony to colonel may have been cut for time in the clusterfun of the Season 7 opening, but by the power vested in me by fan headcanon, I'm going to have the ceremony right now, and I'm going to make it short and simple. Congratulations, Captain Kira.
Does a vaporizing shot have to hit center mass to work? If the disruptor just kind of nicks your pinky toe, would the effect still travel up and envelop your whole body?
Can someone splash cold water on you before it reaches your torso and save you?
It's pretty reasonable for God to need a starship
Guy needed someone to build an ark for him, so it's consistent with his skill set. He was mostly into gardening I believe.
I absolutely love Kai Winn but I can't stand Louise Fletcher
reddit.comI mean, Data suffers a cyberattack or demonic possession or something like twice per season, it should give them some ideas.
Alternatively, if Data witnessed Cardassian atrocities, could his ethical subroutines cause him to join the Maquis willingly?

Also question: Have there been other Star Trek episodes directed by an actor recurring in that particular series, but who didn't appear in the episode?
Jonathan Frakes and Levar Burton directed a bunch of DS9 and Voyager but they weren't recurring in those series.
For example imagine if Whoopi Goldberg directed "Sub Rosa" or something like that, is what I'm asking.
