Possibly Moving to Santa Clarita — best neighborhoods/apartments?

TL;DR: Moving to the area soon (working in Palmdale), new to the area, looking for relatively new and safe neighborhoods/apartments. It’ll be just me and my two dogs.

Hi! I’ll be starting a new position in Palmdale soon and originally planned on moving there, but after reading comments on Reddit and talking to a few people from the area, I’m now leaning more toward Santa Clarita. Since I may not be able to fly out beforehand to apartment hunt in person, I wanted to ask for some local insight and recommendations. It will just be myself and my two big dogs. My dogs are ESAs (emotional support animals), so pet-friendly would be nice but not required.

I’m trying to stay under $2300/month (flexible if needed). I know commuting to Palmdale from Santa Clarita will be longer, but SC seems like it may fit my lifestyle better and I like that it’s closer to LA and has more to do outside of work. I would prefer somewhere relatively new and safe, especially since I walk my dogs a lot.

I’m not very familiar with the area (I’ve only visited Palmdale briefly), so I’d love to know which neighborhoods or apartment complexes to prioritize or avoid. I’m also open to nearby areas if there are better options.

Any advice, apartment complexes, or general tips would be really appreciated and helpful. Thanks!

Hi! I am moving to Palmdale very soon and I am looking for the best neighborhoods/apartments. I do not know if I will be able to fly out there to look at places in person so I thought I should come on here and ask for any insight. It will just be myself and my two big dogs. My dogs are ESAs (emotional support animals), so pet-friendly would be nice but not required.

I am trying to stay under $2300/month (flexible if needed). I will be working in Palmdale so I am trying to stay within the city or as close as possible. I would prefer somewhere relatively new and safe, especially since I walk my dogs a lot.

I’m not super familiar with the area (I’ve only visited for like half a day) so I’d also love to know which areas to prioritize or which to avoid. I’ve also heard a bit about west vs east Palmdale, but I’m not sure how accurate that is… would appreciate knowledge on it. Also open to nearby areas if they’re better than staying directly in Palmdale.

Any advice, apartment complexes, or general tips would be really appreciated and helpful. Thanks!

So I am trying to post my first post on a subreddit for a location I am moving to but every time I post, I get this message under the post. Has anyone else had this problem? I am new to Reddit (just joined a couple of days ago). Any suggestions?
