Hairstylist for highlights?

Hey all, I see some old posts (1-3 years old) about general hairstyling services. Can anyone make a recommendation for someone who can highlight and cut my hair?

I have 1B hair, so not super complicated. I have had a rough year on my hair (had a TERRIBLE coloring experience at Bang Salon City Vista and have been recovering ever since), so I have some trust issues. I usually prefer to visit my stylist back home in NC because I haven’t found someone here, but I have a graduation this weekend and a wedding at the end of the month and would like to get at least a partial highlight.

I like a fine weave on my highlights (not chunky) and typically pay $180 (not including tip) for a full highlight, toning, and cut/style at home. Is there anywhere in this city that is remotely comparable to that price-wise and has good technique? Technique matters more to me, but I really would love to stay under $230 before tip, if possible.

Thanks so much!

About me:

- Currently in my 20s; never got a comprehensive education on credit or credit cards, so I am a careful spender who enjoys maximizing a deal
- Husband is about to start a high-earning job after earning an advanced degree
- Live in a big city and spend ~$3000 each month on rent, parking, utilities, insurance
- Gas is occasional, we maybe spend $100 a month
- We mostly buy groceries and cook at home but definitely do eat out and order via Uber Eats at least a few times a month
- We take at least one big international trip a year, so having no FTF is important to me; we also take big trips domestically in the U.S. 1-3 times per year
- My husband is not a big spender; my highest spending category outside of what is listed above is clothes
- I am not opposed to a high AF
- Currently have the BOFA travel rewards and have had that since college since it was low-hanging fruit at the time; was recently approved for the Amex Platinum but haven’t accepted
- Ideally I’d like to close my BOFA travel card and have 1-2 cards that take care of all the different aspects of spending in my life so I can maximize points. My husband currently has no credit cards so it’s possible I could open one and he could open the other. I’m really not interested in being a credit card juggler.

Looking forward to reading your recs. Thanks!

This is a bit premature, but my friend and I are planning to buy tickets to see Pippin at Signature Theatre in Arlington. Does anyone have tickets on/near opening night, and if so, can you report back on what seats are good? I’ve never seen a show there and am curious to know where the action will be centered…Also, if anyone has general insights on seating at Signature, let me know! 🎭
