First of all, my apologies if the question itself offended anyone. And I am apologising sincerely.

Now, we have day-time help at home (30+ I believe), her brother stays with them. This brother of hers got in trouble, and here is the trouble in chronological order.

Our help's brother (23M) met a girl (17F) online. Got into a relationship, girl got pregnant. When the girl had to visit a hospital due to "sickness", the girl and her mother got to know that she is pregnant. They called this man (help's brother) and aborted the child.

The hospital proactively reported to police and the man got arrested.

Charges: R@pe, abortion, etc.

My help's claim: This girl has a similar history with another boy who had to finally pay 3 lakhs to the girl's family. Btw, the police gave this info.

Their advocate is saying the bail itself would take 4 lakhs. And her brother would be out in 3 months.

Now, as far as I am concerned, I don't even know the boy. And I can't trust my help's words blindly. But, if we take the above at face value, what do you think legally?

Also, do you think her lawyer is charging them more than he should?

P.S. - While, I have used the word "consensual" in my question, I don't even know if we can call it that in this case. One more thing, the boy and girl belong to the same religion (in case this fact matters). Anyhow, I am looking for some legal advice on behalf of our help.
