I first came up with this story for the Write-a-thon last November. I published around 42 chapters. The response was mixed, but most of the criticism was helpful.

I intended to finish the first book and then evaluate what to do next. However, there was one big problem. I, myself, felt the MC was lacking.

It started off with a new idea. A sort of twist to the OP MC archetype. However, the execution was a failure. I tried to salvage it, but her arc was kinda not working for the story I had come up with.

So, I decided to take a break and work on the story again. One of the main changes I made was removing the Isekai element. The MC became a local protagonist. This made it much easier to integrate her arc into the story. It also made it easier to add the emotional arc to her character, which I felt was missing from the previous story.

If you guys feel like checking it out. See the link below.

About the story:

Maya, who was orphaned at birth, had found herself a new family in the Magus Guild, whose sole mission was to kill the Gods that governed their world. Loyal to their ambitions, she rose through the ranks to become one of their most trusted and powerful members. Working as a spy, her journeys took her across the world, which she began to see through a different lens. When the time came to sow the seeds of destruction, she chose to betray her family. After an apocalyptic battle with its leader, she chose to disappear from the world in self-exile.

As time moved on, the world seemed to have all but forgotten her. However, the echoes of the past ring louder in the present. When an old friend arrives seeking her help, she learns of the ugly truth. The Gods have turned on their own creations. Maya finds herself at the crossroads once again, where she is reminded of the betrayal she had made for the sake of the world.

As she ventures into the world once again, she finds herself travelling across the continent, witnessing how the world has changed over the years, crossing paths with allies and foes of past and new, all while being reminded of why she chose to fight the battles she fought.

Hi all,

I am looking for a writer, who wants to write but doesn't have a story. I have a few fantasy stories with me that i would like to publish, but do not have the bandwidth to work on.

I will handle the story, characters, and editing. I want someone to do the heavy lifting of writing the content.

The genre is fantasy. And it will be a long term commitment. Expect to write 30k words before publishing.

The monetary path will be publish on Royalroad -> Patreon -> Finish book 1 -> publish on amazon.

We can discuss the monetary split once we settle on the style.

Would be good if you guys are in Bangalore as well, but necessary.

The plot will be a mix of Indian Mythology mixed with western fantasy.

I am currently working on a GameLit story and wanted to add an achievements system. It feels a little trickier to design as I am not exactly sure what and where to insert. It felt really cool at first, using one to get MC to the next level, so I thought I would restrict it to when the MC does something cool. But wouldn't that feel odd and plot-convenient? At the same time, having too many of them feels exhausting to create, and not sure if the reader would care.
