I'm gonna keep it because I love Roon but Tidal sounds worse than Amazon Music, Spotify, and Pandora on my WiiM Pro and even in my car.
I've gone through all the settings multiple times and I have no way to explain it. In the car maybe, because I have to take the quality level down a notch to keep it from buffering occasionally when I'm on Bluetooth. Even my wife noticed it without any prompting and she neither knows anything nor cares about such things. I mean I still find it a good value since Roon and Tidal together cost no more than the price of an album each month and it still sounds good but it would be great to switch from my turntable over to my streamer and have Tidal sound just as good as the turntable or my other streaming services and not lose anything. It's just a bit thinner and not as full or immersive. I have an Adcom GFP 555 preamp, and a Crown Macro Tech 1200 amp, with a Dual 1219 turntable with a Stanton 681EEE cartridge as one source and a WiiM Pro streamer as another, into a pair of Magnepan MG-IIIa speakers. So even though it's not the best stuff ever made I've got to think it's better than half the stuff out there. I don't think there's anything I can do about it at this point in time but I wonder if anyone experiences the same thing or if anyone did anything about it? Thanks
