Update on my 10k tour

I finally reached Turkey and my final destination in Central Anatolia after 4,800 km and 60h of riding in 11 Days. Now I’m going to take some time to rest and explore the region before starting my journey back home.

This bike is amazing on twisty roads — it was so much fun riding the empty mountain roads in Turkey. I wish I could show you the views through my own eyes, but the camera just isn’t capable of capturing the moment properly. And honestly, I didn’t want to have the GoPro mounted all the time — I wanted to truly live in the moment.

Sadly, my right fog light fell off and was only held on by the cable attached to it. Mid-corner I heard a loud noise and at first I was proud of scraping my foot pegs, but later I realized it was actually the fog light banging against the front 😂. The good thing is that I can probably fix it with a new screw.

Now I’m going to get rid of the panniers, switch to Mitas Enduro Trail+ tires, and do some light off-roading. Wish me luck 😂

Tour Update. 3k done 7k to go

Well, it’s been amazing so far. Italy is done, and I’m in Greece right now, and I have to say it’s an ADV paradise. Amazing empty roads — asphalt or gravel, it has absolutely everything. You can ride with beautiful views without seeing another person for hours.

My check engine light problem was solved by the super helpful guys at the Honda dealership in Lecce. It was, as you guys told me, the quickshifter. The positioning sensor gave a false signal and was reset.

One minor setback was that my helmet had an incident — thankfully without my head in it 😂. It fell off my bike and the visor mechanism broke. A replacement is already waiting for me in Istanbul, so all is good.

Next stop: Türkiye 🇹🇷

So, after a beautiful ride through Tuscany – man, are these roads amazing – my check engine light came on. Before that, my quickshifter didn’t work, but after turning the engine off and on, it worked again. Shortly after, though, the check engine light came on.

Could it be because of the quickshifter? I really want to continue this journey, but after having a transmission failure on my brand-new Miata mid-trip and waiting seven months for it to be transported back from Turkey to Germany, I’m a bit traumatized 😂

Other than that, the bike feels great, and I’m having the time of my life 😂

The Transalp is finally home and where it belongs 😎🏔️

The first day of 700 km on the Autobahn is done, and I have to say the Transalp is super comfortable. No buffeting at all, even with my Klim Krios Pro with a peak. That €10 AliExpress mod to raise the windshield a bit was a total game changer. Maybe it’s the height or the small gap it creates that lets air flow through and reduces underpressure in the cockpit. The bike is not tiring at all at 130 kph, and with breaks every two hours, the seat is also bearable. And it handles the extra weight really well. Both panniers are loaded with 6 Kg each and the topbox is empty. I don’t really feel the extra weight. I just wish it had cruise control 😂

Tomorrow I’m starting my first big trip on a motorcycle. And by “first big trip,” I mean my first trip ever 😂.

I’m starting in Germany, then heading through the Italian Alps and Tuscany, continuing around Naples, then taking a ferry to Greece, and finally to Turkey.

I’m super nervous, but I think I’m well prepared. After arriving in Turkey, I’ll explore for two weeks and then head back through the Adriatic and the Alps.

So, one month in total.
