And update to my RAoC friends

As some of y'all know this year has been HARD for me. Allergic reactions, back and spine issues, neurological issues stemming from surgery a few years ago and just ups and downs with life. So ya know, everything.

I haven't been active here much and I'm sorry for that. I keep wanting to send out offers but then I get overwhelmed and have a meltdown. Oh yeah, and I got diagnosed officially with autism. Unmasking has been hard and so life changing at the same time.

I know I'll be back eventually. Maybe will send my best carding friends a random card one of these days. With that being said, I am not taking cards right now. It's too much to post thank yous and I know they're important but my brain is just struggling.

Love you all friends.

Developed yet another allergy?!

I have a slew of allergies that I started developing about a decade ago. First started with nuts then all forms of soy and well the rest have come on over the years. Recently (within the last 2 years) wheat and bananas have realllly gotten worse the point where I can't even touch these items without being itchy.

Now fast forward to about a month ago, I started having random sickness and stomach issues followed by full body itching and hives. I take allergy medicine twice a day (two different types per my allergist) and thought it was just environmental allergies, well I don't think that's the case anymore. I eliminated all dairy from my diet and wow I felt so much better.

I had a craving for a bagel with cream cheese and lox, so I let myself indulge twice. I am now back to being super sick and itchy.

It's also suspected that I have MCAS, do you think it's worth going to the allergist to see my options knowing my insurance will not cover allergy shots, xolair or anything else besides an allergy test?

I'm at a loss of what else to do besides avoid these things. But it begs the question, "what is left to eat?!"

I have been told by my insurance that any sort of epinephrine, generic or not, won't be covered to be filled!! After an hour on the phone with them they finally submitted a prior authorization request to see if they can fill it. Told me to contact my prescriber to make sure they fill out the prior auth and to contact the insurance issuer, aka my employer... I am dumbfounded. I have a history of anaphylactic reactions which I've needed epipens for along with hospital visits. I have no words. I have already used two this year and went to the hospital for treatment. The next set of epipens I have are set to expire soon which is what prompted the refill request.

Who else can I bring this up to?! This is a life saving medication!

Does anyone else tend to favor older music? I have lately been finding myself listening to 1940s big band, 50/60s pop hits and happy oldies on SiriusXM radio while I work. Also I keep listening to older salsa music (am half Puerto Rican, sooo this is just my culture) and reggaeton. New stuff is just ✨not it✨ for me. It's too overstimulating most times and sounds terrible with auto tune and crap. Also the messaging in the lyrics are horrible.

Please tell me I'm not alone.
