How to get clean topology when importing Rhino models into Blender? Any auto-retopo plugins?

"Is there a way to get clean and not overly dense topology when bringing models from Rhino into Blender for rendering? My workflow is: model in Rhino → QuadRemesh → export → render in Blender. But if I set the polygon count too low the model gets damaged, and if I keep it high I get too many polygons and Rhino freezes during QuadRemesh. Is there any method, plugin, or addon that can automatically retopologize it without me having to do it manually?"

"How can I make money as a 2nd year Product Design student with limited skills?"

"I'm a 2nd year Product Design student and I want to find ways to make some income to help reduce the financial burden on my parents.

My current skills:

Product design (still learning, not professional level yet)

Basic logo design in Canva, then placing it onto product mockups in Photoshop using free templates from Freepik (e.g. t-shirts, packaging, mugs)

3D modeling in Rhino (intermediate) and Blender (beginner-intermediate)

Rhino: can model but Grasshopper is basically zero

Blender: below intermediate, mostly basic modeling and rendering

I'm not at the level where I can take on real professional product design clients yet. What are some realistic ways I can start making money with my current skill set as a student?"

Does GPA matter for getting a job in Product/Industrial Design?

Hi, I'm a Thai 2nd year Product Design student. Due to some personal issues this semester, I'll likely end up with a low GPA (around 2.5–2.7 cumulative).

For those working in the field — did employers ever ask about your GPA during hiring? Or does portfolio matter way more?

Also curious if this varies (Thailand vs international companies).

Thanks

Struggling to come up with ideas for a cultural toy design — how do you guys brainstorm?

I have an assignment to design a toy based on a specific culture and I'm completely stuck. I can't think of anything at all. How long does it usually take you guys to come up with a concept? Do you have any tips or tricks to get ideas flowing faster? Please help TT

Feeling stuck and not good enough in product design

I’m a 2nd year product design student (almost 20), and honestly I’ve been feeling really frustrated with myself lately. No matter how hard I try, I feel like I’m just not good enough compared to my classmates. Their designs look so clean, creative, and well thought out. Some of their 3D models look insanely complex, and I genuinely don’t even understand how they made them — what tools they used, what techniques, or if they’re using AI or something else. Everything just looks… better than mine. I’ve been putting in a lot of effort. Staying up late, barely sleeping, practicing the software, trying to improve. But the results I get still feel terrible. My designs don’t look that good, and I struggle a lot with coming up with interesting ideas — both in terms of form and function. The weird part is, I’m actually good at drawing. Probably one of the better ones in my class when it comes to realistic drawing. But I feel like that doesn’t help much here. I can draw what I see, but when it comes to creating something new — something that doesn’t already exist — I just get stuck. It’s like my brain goes blank. I’m starting to question if I chose the wrong path. Has anyone else gone through something like this? How did you get past it?
