cw heavy heavy talk of racism and slavery in my question
i only ask bc like i think itd be cool to make a game with an option to play as a black woman, not enough games have that option ykno, but it reeeaaaaaallyyy feels like the game that opens with escaping a cult's slave trade is maybe not the way to go, but then i asked my friend who is generally better at politics than me and she said itd be wayyyyy weirder to just not have any black characters. tbh this didnt even occur to me as a question id have to even ask bc like my game is inspired by fallout and with the like epstein shit going on i guess it was kinda on my mind, but now its like one of my protags white skin clashes with her outfit and somebody was like make her black and like now i have a whole moral quandry on my hands which led me here., plus the characters like codename post escape was gonna be the desert angel which like i also want opinions on how that reflects, i mean like the game is set in a desert, again fallout inspo. it seems fine but i feel like ive heard like right wingers say similarly worded things in horrible ways... so like idk. so basically tl;dr in my video that opens with escaping a cult's slave trade in a dystopian setting, would it be weirder to specifically avoid making any protagonists or characters in those situations black bc it could bring up harsh historical concepts for black players or make them uncomfortable, or to include black player character options and npcs in those situations with the space aliens, poc, and white ppl.
