[pics not oc] Let’s also not forget about Janet Jackson who was punished for a moment Justin Timberlake caused. Janet Jackson was blacklisted and humiliated, while Justin Timberlake walked away to a thriving career. Janet faced intense backlash, radio blacklisting, lost opportunities, damaged reputation, while Justin Timberlake continued his career with relatively little long term impact. In fact, he was invited back to perform at later Super Bowl events.
Britney Spears who was controlled by an industry that first built her up, then broke her down. She was relentlessly scrutinized by tabloids, mocked during very public struggles, and placed under a conservatorship that controlled major parts of her life and finances for over a decade. She was being relentlessly exploited by the industry that profited off her image and also turned her pain into entertainment, controlling her life when she needed support.
Both Janet Jackson and Britney Spears had massive, platinum-level careers but it didn’t protect them from being crushed away by the misogyny in the industry.
LOUD WOMEN
have always been
my favorite women.
On girls night
they carry the conversation
in the lantern of their mouths.
Surrounded by moths,
greedy for her to serve the tea.
The "Oh, my gosh.
I have to tell you..." women.
Cackling women.
Conductors of head-back laughing fits.
Cinematic women
who usually don't recognize
how beautiful they are.
Can't see the bright light
others can't take their eyes off of.
Loud women are the best women.
Unafraid to startle the patriarchy
by saying what she wants.
She's also the first to say,
"Let me get that for you.
Let me take care of you.
Let me hold you."
They are the kind of women
who always make room.

(I love introverted women too)
Her cries shatters my soul, i may never resonate with her or feel the same pain as her but and i can feel her fear, her pain, her cry for help, her helplessness, her unwillingness, her dreams getting shattered, her future in ruins! It breaks my heart to millions to know that this isn’t just a video, but a reality for so many girls. No matter how many times i see it, it never feels easier; it always leaves me disturbed and questioning how such things are still happening right around us!
Since 1963, child marriage has been prohibited in Nepal. The existing law stipulates that both men and women must be 20 years old to marry. Despite a National goal to eliminate the practice by 2030, Nepal continues to have one of the highest rates of child marriage in Asia, with approximately 35% of girls married before the age of 18 and nearly 10% before the age of 15.
This loss of childhood by early marriage has ripple effects. It pulls girls out of school, results in early and dangerous pregnancies, deprives women and girls of economic independence, and is a driver of high fertility rates and population growth. Each year, 12 million girls are married before the age of 18 That is 23 girls every minute Nearly 1 every 2 seconds.
Let Children be Children, not brides and grooms. Don’t take away their dreams and future. Don’t make govt. force you to not marry a child! Educate the girls, save the nation!
