Xero's Receive Money screen makes you enter unit price manually - I need it to calculate price!
Anyone else run into this? When I record a grain sale deposit, I know two things: the total dollar amount that hit my account, and the quantity sold (bushels, tons, etc.). What I need for the books is the price per unit.
Xero's Receive Money screen makes you enter unit price manually — there's no way to input the total and quantity and have it work backwards to give you the unit price. So every entry requires me to pull out a calculator first, then plug in the result - sometimes to the 4th decimal place to get the pennies to match the deposit. More steps, more chances for a rounding error.
The fix seems simple: let users enter the line total and quantity, and auto-calculate unit price as Amount ÷ Quantity. A toggle, a right-click option, anything really.
This would be a big help for anyone in ag (grain, livestock) or any commodity business where the settlement check is the known number and the per-unit price is derived from it.
Have upvoted it on the Xero community board if anyone wants to add their vote. Would love to know if others have found a workaround in the meantime.
