I’m in Zone 8a and it’s my first time growing vegetables in containers. Trying shishitos, jalapeños, and bell peppers (among other vegetables), but specifically noticing the peppers are growing reallyyyy slowly / not much. Seeing some flowers starting, but they still seem really slow. Any ideas?

Located in Charlotte & getting 5-6 hrs of direct sunlight but supplementing with multiple LED grow lights that run for 12 hrs of the day. 2 peppers + dill per 15G container. Fertilized when planted and every 2 weeks, including fish fertilizer in the water. Soil has some worm castings and perlite in it. Transplanted them from seedlings bought at the farmer’s market or Lowe’s probably ~6 weeks ago and cover them whenever it drops below 50F (which has happened quite a few times in the last month).

Watering when soil is dry and checking moisture every day, so probably doing some watering every 2-3 days with how the weather has been recently. I’ve had some aphids that I spray off daily as well.

Any tips appreciated! I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong here.

This is my first attempt at trying to grow tomatoes and I have a roma and a beefmaster tomato. Each is planted in a 15G container with basil being the only other plant in that container. They get some direct sun from around 7 am - noon and I supplement with grow lights that are on from 8-8 since I don’t think I get enough light.

The first roma plant (pic 1) I had in that spot died so I switched it out a month ago and it just hasn’t done much. The beefmaster (pic 2) was planted around the same time and has grown a bit, but neither are flowering. I didn’t grow from seeds, but purchased at the farmers market and transplanted.

Zone 8a, specifically Charlotte, NC, and the temps have been fluctuating to be cloudier and chillier than normal recently. I fertilize with worm castings and a 3-4-5 on transplant and every 2 weeks, plus liquid fish fertilizer diluted in water every 2 weeks. I’ve been watering only a couple times a week with the weird weather, and don’t do it when I feel the soil is still wet/moist. Please help!
