Window tint regret - seeking advice

Just had ceramic window tint installed on my 3 month old car for the first time, now I’m regretting it. I was always most interested in having it for heat and UV protection, not so much esthetic or privacy. But I thought I’d give it a try. My car has relatively small windows and low ambient lighting to begin with, so I was worried about reducing light, especially at night.

I got 70% windshield, 45% front, and 30% rear from a reputable shop in CA for $800. Theres nothing wrong with the actual install. My concerns are I don’t like the look (inside or out) just based on learned personal after the fact, legal, and decreased ambient light in the car.

I realized I really enjoy looking out of the window through clear class, idk if that makes sense. It’s my understanding that getting a ticket for my relatively light tint is low but not zero, but it does make me a bit nervous.

I think my ideal set up, knowing what I know now, would be simple ceramic 70% or even 80% all around. that way, I would block heat UV and not have the actual darkness or legal issues (even though any windshield tint aside from top area is illegal).

I want to go back into the shop and explain my situation to see what options there are. I know they won’t be able to remove and replace my tint for free. Has anyone else been in this situation or a similar one? Any suggestions? I appreciate it. Sorry for the long block of text.

Moving to Houston near med center - need recs

I will be moving to Houston from far away to work at Texas Medical Center. I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed with the choices. I would love to hear recommendations/experiences from other medical people. I really would like to have in unit laundry and garage parking. I know parking around the hospital can be difficult, so either shuttle directly from an apartment complex or walking distance would be ideal for me. My budget is up to about $2000. I applied to UT health housing, but never off the waitlist. thanks in advance!

PPF, window tint, and ceramic coating for Crown Signia

I’m interested in getting full front PPF, full ceramic coating, and ceramic window tint on all windows for my ‘26 CS. I’ve gotten a couple quotes, and the best one so far is $3350 to bundle all 3 services. Breakdown:

- $750 XR Plus ceramic window tint

-$1850 Xpel front PPF

-$750 Xpel ceramic coating

Based in Southern California. I’ve never had any of these done on a car before. Are these good prices? What are other people‘s experiences? Should I keep looking? Not sure if they are even worth it. I know that PPF really just protects against minor rock chips, and ceramic coating just makes the surfaces more hydrophobic and easier to wash
