Xpel Windshield Film lifting

Xpel Windshield Film lifting

Curious on opinions on whether lifting on 1-year old windshield film should be lifting. It started lifting almost immediately after install. It didn’t bother me too much until today when I went to go hand wash the car. I believe I have a 2-year warranty with it. Is this something I could legitimately pursue the installer to remove and reinstall?

Should I take this two tractor job?

Need some advice.. I was told to call this guy because he wanted a couple john deer 4720 compact tractors tinted. I still somewhat of a learning tinter, I can do cars no problem but never done any heavy equipment- I’ve heard these are a humbling experience. I called this guy about taking a look with what he was and he was kind of weird about it, arrogant sort of tone.

I was planning on going into it being upfront and say it was a first experience for me and they’re a challenging vehicle to do but now I’m second guessing myself. Should I go and say that or just send him a text and pass on it after researching. Kind of concerned I couldn’t get a decent finish at all. Been anxious about this for the past few days.

I love the idea of the opportunity but worried about the outcome.

Got my windshield tinted. Running ceramic 15 all around and 35 on the windshield.

In FL btw. I can barely notice it from the inside during the day. Slightly dimmer at night but I have good headlights. Privacy has definitely improved.

Mistakenly pulled off tint / film, ugh, need some expertise

2015 Honda Accord coupe, bought this car used. The back window had film on it, bubbling but wasn’t tinted - odd to me. Not even sure why this previous owner had it on there, no tint.

I pulled it off like an idiot. Well, now half of the back window you can’t see out of it. A portion or layer of the film stayed and now it’s ’frosted’. What should I do? How costly?

Thanks in advance.

NYC Tint Advise/Setup

I just bought a 2022 black accord SE. I’m going ceramic tints. I’m torn between going 5-20%(leaning more on the 15%) all around except the front windshield I want to leave that clear, I’m open to hearing different setups. I’m just curious on your guys setups.

What is the ideal tint set up?

I’m getting my car tinted next week and am still deciding between which percentages to choose.

I’m considering 15-20% on front windows, 15% back windows, 15-20% back windshield, and 50% front windshield with a 5% legal strip. Any advice would be much appreciated. I live in Florida and my only concern is being pulled over frequently for windshield / front windows

How are these prices ?

This is my local Llumar Select Pro dealer. Planning to get my BMW sedan tinted with Pinnacle 35% and Air80 on the windshield.

Is this normal for new tint?

Just got my 10+ year old tint removed and new ceramic installed. Everything looks great except this spot near the top of one window.

I assume this won’t go away, considering there was tint on there previously for 10 years, is this acceptable? Worth going back to the shop?

Windshield Tint Questions

Looking to get my windows tinted in Florida. Mainly for the heat reduction inside the car. However, I also like the look of it - I’ve got a white Honda civic with factory/no tint.

I just learned it’s illegal to do the entire windshield, even if transparent/clear!? I think the visor strip is ugly looking and I know the windshield is the primary culprit of letting heat in. However, I’ve never used (nor plan to use) a windshield sun shade as I find them cumbersome. Do the cops really care about lightly tinted or clear ceramic windshields?

Also just learned that a lot of people end up getting it removed afterwards even if they do get it because of the halo effect!? Should I expect this issue? Why does it happen?

What do y’all recommend as far as type of tint (ceramic or does other premium work well?), percentage of tint on windows vs windshield (for heat reduction and aesthetics, I don’t like the look of super dark windows then nothing on the windshield) and are any of you in the panhandle area that can provide a quote? 🙏

Would you retint your 20% sides to 5% or 15% or leave the 20% and add 40% windshield tint ?

I’m really stuck on this , I have a budget for one of these tint upgrades on my Mustang as I still want a darker look, while taking into account which will be more likely to get me pulled over , Insurence claims , and visibility 😅 what would you do?!

Ideas for preserving old window stickers?

I have an early 90’s car from Japan in highly original condition. It has two original window stickers in the rear window that I’d like to prevent from any further sun fading. Is there a clear ceramic tint that would be an option for using over the top of the glass (on the exterior) in order to achieve this?

I’d like to cover the entire rear window so that no seams are present. If that’s not possible, then I suppose I could simply have two small pieces placed only over the two areas where the decals are located. One is 1” x 6” and the other is 2” x 6”.

The car is mostly a show car nowadays that occasionally does group driving tours and social events. It doesn’t have any exposure to water other than from my own hand washing.

Mobile guy bodge job

I came across an ad for a mobile window tinting service online and figured I’d give it a try since the convenience factor was hard to pass up. Just had the front two windows done, the rear glass on the Model X is already pretty dark so I left those alone. The guy picked my car up, took it to his shop, and dropped it back off looking like this.

Formula One pinnacle nano Ceramic vs xpel prime plus

Hi, just for a 2025 m3. Want all windows minus the windshield tinted.

Doing 35 all around, cost for formula 1 is 350, 500 for xpel. Any recommendations on what to do.

Thanks

XPEL Prime XR Blue 80

I want to get my new Tesla Model Y Juniper tinted, all doors and windows except the moonroof. I was going to do XPEL Prime XR Plus on the windows — 35% on the fronts since that’s the lowest I’m allowed to do — and not quite sure about the backs yet. We’re in Hawaii, so i can’t wait for the additional heat rejection.

My question is for the windshield. The shops that are available to me seem to only do the XPEL Prime XR Blue 80 on the windshield. There seems to be very little out there on what this actually looks like in person. I’m slightly worried about what my wife will think of the blue hue.

So with that being said, does anyone have Blue 80, and do they like / recommend it?
