Dear GM community and employees,

I know the transition from Opel was complex, but European Ampera-e owners are feeling abandoned. While the Chevy Bolt EV thrives in the US, our European versions have been stripped of remote features and connectivity.

This isn't just about an app; it's about the long-term reputation of GM's EV ecosystem. If cars become "offline bricks" just because of a corporate sale, it sends a bad message to all future EV buyers.

We’ve started a petition asking GM to provide API access or a software workaround for the European market. We are almost at 100 signatures within hours.
We hope someone at Detroit is listening.

Hi everyone,
I’m writing to you because of a frustrating situation in Europe. As many of you know, the Opel Ampera-e is the European twin of the Chevy Bolt EV. When GM sold Opel to Stellantis, they eventually shut down OnStar services here.

Now, thousands of owners have lost remote climate control, charging monitoring, and API access—features we paid for. While US Bolt owners still enjoy these services, European owners are left with "dumb" EVs in 2026.

We aren't asking for a miracle, just API access or a local software fix (Bluetooth/Wi-Fi) to regain control of our cars.

We have a growing international petition (approaching 100 signatures in just a few hours). We’d appreciate your support to show GM that EV owners won't be ignored!
