“You’re not a candidate.” → NW7 10-month result with Dr. Sean Benham (5337 grafts, beard + scalp)
10 months post-op and sharing because I was initially told I wasn’t even a candidate. I’m NW6–7 and had 5,337 grafts over 2 days (4,896 scalp, 441 beard) with Dr. Sean Benham in Santa Monica. A year before surgery, he was very direct that my donor area was too weak and that I wouldn’t get a good result—honestly, that’s why I trusted him. I spent a year on topical finasteride + minoxidil (and added laser therapy), slowly improving donor quality until he felt I could proceed, but with realistic expectations.
