Hi! I'm planning on keeping a couple of Marble Batik Crab and was researching on how to keep terrestrial crabs. I'm planning on keeping them on a 5gallon tank with sand and minimal or no decorations, just a small cork bark for hiding. I just have a few questions.

  1. How wet should I make the sand? Or should it be wet at all?

  2. Is a small petri dish good for their fresh water bowl?

  3. What water should I use for their water bowl? Can I use aquarium water from my fresh water tank?

  4. They said that I should mist water in the enclosure to increase the humidity. Can I use distilled water so that the water wont leave white mineral deposits on the glass?

  5. How would I clean their waste/poop?

  6. Any advice on keeping them?

Thanks!

If you're ever in Da Nang Vietnam, go to the night market and look for the money changer stall, you can buy different kinds of money from foreign countries.
