Hey, 27M, recently went through a breakup of a long term relationship and wanting to make my house feel like “mine” again. I’m typically more of a minimalist/clean design style.

Both pieces of furniture will be replaced (cats got a hold of them) and want to use this as an opportunity to make it feel welcoming.

Looking for suggestions on whether a couch/accent chair or couch/loveseat combo will work with this space. It’s kind of awkward because of the openness. Also looking for rug color/pattern suggestions. Eventually this summer I’ll be replacing the flooring, but for now I have the tile to work with.

(The tv mount will be coming off of the wall, don’t worry)
