Why we gatekeeping?
you say it's hard to find new people to listen to--but your mods won't even let the venn diagram of 10 people who are unknown and making hyperpop/wanna post their music to reddit to do so.
i don't understand why we're gatekeeping on platform that is at its core democratic, if the music is bad and people don't wanna listen to it they'll downvote and move on. if it's good then why are we admonishing sharing that music with others? i'm sorry dont have a shadow cabal of social media profiles to pay to astroturf my music like geese, i truly don't understand the choice behind not allowing any self music other than in a promotion thread nobody reads or looks at?
if you guys want more music, then shouldn't we create a space for the community to actually be able to share with one another. Anyone else in this subreddit feel the lock on posting is a little much, why can't there just be a hard cap on how many you can post a month? like music takes time to make, there's not gonna be 150 songs posted by one guy on the first day this rule is changed. when the only other option is sending people to spotify or soundcloud to listen, taking them out of the place where hyperpop has a chance to be interacted with in a social form, why don't we do something different for once and make this space work for the artists trying to make it in this world.
You want hyperpop, we have hyperpop, you gatekeep the door to having new hyperpop to listen to, so the people that are creating no longer can, because there is no audience that can find them when you do this. I am a human being living in the middle of nowhere in montana on a farm and i have no one to share what i create in my real life. i'm making music because i love it, im not trying to do anything other than hope my message reaches the people who need to hear it. They're out there, ya'll just wanna keep this page sterile with your 10 artists you talk about, why not introduce a little change and see that lack of new art and artists disappear.
Hypercolor Glitches
sometimes when i export these overly edited photos, my software glitches and adds extra bits, pulls the textures or doubles the image, and when i color correct there's a chance it makes it even more vibrant than expected. hope you enjoy the outcome!
[OC] Hypercolor Pics
hope you enjoy the colors, some are taken on film, others digital. been making art like this since 2019, trying to push vibrancy past its bounds.
i've always loved playing farm life sims, I grew up in new york city with little opportunity to be in nature. at some point I grew unsatisfied with replaying harvest moon, stardew valley, etc; the endless progress that didn't materially change my existence.... so i left it all behind to move to montana and here we are today! wanted to ask ya'll what would you grow if you picked up an abandoned farm? i've gone for peafowl, rabbits, and ducks– been growing lots of fruit while I prep new areas for growing, hoping to get a lot more lentils, berries and grapes soon but my patches are still small. anyways :) live that little life, it's possible!!
been out in montana living life and taking flicks, let me know if you'd like to see other subjects, or which photos stand out the most for you!
