Some non black fans don’t know when to read the room.

As a black woman who finds it hard to find love I relate to Olivia dean. Her songs about her immigrant mum / grandpa and grandma is extremely relatable to those who are come from ethnic / immigrant backgrounds. Alongside her songs about being half black / biracial trying to navigate the romantic world.
I went to her concert in Manchester (N1) and I had a lot of white fans give me rude looks and even QUESTION why I was even there. I have been listening to Olivia dean since 2022 as loyle carner put her on the map with their song together.
People were making jokes when she was explaining the context to carmen - a song about how immigrant background.
I honestly think it’s disrespectful and rude to question why people of colour are at a concert where a half BLACK (who is deep into her culture) is performing.
And SOME of you fans need to honestly do better when it comes to artists who are black / black representing.

Should I watch the movie? I’m on season 3

I’m on s3 ep 11 and I was just wondering if the movie is worth it . I personally don’t really watch movies made before 2000 as the quality is bad imo but watching the handmaid’s tale has been sooo good that I honestly wouldn’t mind watching the movie especially since the show has put on a modern twist unlike the movie (I’m assuming??)

EDIT : I have personal reasons apart from cgi and bad lighting, most old movies were misogynistic and racist/ built on the pain of black and brown people , which is why I dislike a lot of them as a person of colour so please stop asking me to watch old movies lol!

Unpopular opinion

Unpopular opinion but, I think that the apprenticeship route is becoming oversaturated. It’s a good route regardless but due to the job market being shite you are seeing people with uni degrees down scale their degrees by doing a level 2 or 3 that has nothing to do with their degree. It’s kind of sad imo and shows how the government has failed people. As people are relying on apprenticeships not know what they are and are not doing proper research which is why you see a lot of drop outs. It’s also becoming an excuse for SOME employers to take advantage of people , wage wise.
I also think that the route is becoming too popularised. Which is why you are seeing nearly 200 ppl apply for one role (depending on where you live). Yes some of them may not fit the criteria but it still says something.
I know nothing can be done but I just wanted to know if people think the same.

I think that in order for society to work "well" just like pre Covid days, that we need to limit the access to resources for example everyone having access to dating apps, tik tok and social media in general saturated the market.
Having dating apps makes you cross paths with people you literally have no business connecting with.
Another example is access to tools such as production and creativity the distribution of this has made certain markets saturated.

My unpopular opinions are:
1)DBD is better than testing
2) west side high way is a good song
3) I smoke my brain away is overplayed (good song either way) - so is praise da lord , especially in the UK🫩
4) he needs to make more songs like his verse on brothers (with kid cudi )
5) long live asap -deluxe ain’t ALL that still a 8.5/10 tho

Don’t get me wrong all of the parties are not in favour of those who are working class/ are trying to just live HOWEVER, reform is NOT IT. If you have young kids especially young girls they you should NOT be voting reform.

Just because you want black and brown people out of this country doesn’t mean that they will actually do it… 1) it’s illegal and against the EU laws / agreement 2) the NHS and many other fields would collapse.

Seeing people from pagemoss/ Huyton VOTE for reform at the local election is DISTURBING.
A lot of the people living there are either working class or are on benefits … so why vote reform?
Ignore my spelling mistakes I was typing fast

I was born in Ireland and raised in England (from teen years ) I’m now 19 and finishing my engineering b tec ( equivalent to leaving cert) I plan on doing a pre apprenticeship in engineering in Dublin . My questions are:
Has anyone done them and what is your experience doing one
What was it like for you mentally and physically?
Did it help you get into university ?
Was it worth it?
Is it online or in person education?

The reason why I’m doing one is because English b tecs are not accepted in Ireland (I think) and I honestly wouldn’t mind doing a pre apprenticeship to brush up my skills before I enter university.
The screenshot above is one of the many courses I plan on doing !
Any advice is helpful !!

I’m on season 3 ep 1 and I can understand that her love for Hannah was deep HOWEVER, SPOILER- >!I deadass would have ran away with the baby and waited for Hannah-!<
I think the writers should have ended the show with s2 as it’s obvious that they ran out of material after s2 😭✌🏾 still a good show regardless.

My brother saw her perform on a small stage in 2021 ish and now I have had the privilege to see her perform on a massive stage!!

Not only is she lively but she honesty puts on a show for the people !!

Imo artists these days are lazy with concerts but hers was interactive and nice ! It was my first time being in the nosebleed area but it didn’t feel like it was nosebleed’s if that makes sense?

She will always be in my top 5 concerts along side Tom misch and Tyler the creator !

9/10 performance!!

Off topic but, this video really annoyed me as it shows how people don’t like artists experimenting etc. imo the album is a solid 7 . It’s not bad at all ! Therefore, I don’t understand why people outside of the fan base are hating on it…

The “Tik tokification” of rap music has made SOME of yall have high expectations so when people post new music you just shit on them because it’s not up to your standards.

If some of the songs: whiskey, Stay here 4 life , air force etc were on AT LONG LAST A$AP then some of yall wouldn’t be saying this as it fits the vibe of that album…

Finally, HOT TAKE but, some of people would hype niggas like Ian and MANY more “Tik tok” rappers like him and then call DBD trash.
