Hey! I am sophomore here, and I faced real difficulty getting my first volunteering/internship position in a laboratory. I don't have anything to put on my resume, and I am unable to get my very first experience in-person like an on-campus student would. Does cold calling/ emailing labs even work? Should I try showing up in-person and saying I'll do it for free? I can't get lab skills before I'm hired.
