TL;DR:
- I booked a trip in June 2025 from my hometown of Amsterdam, The Netherlands, to Am Pavillon in Bern, Switzerland.
- I paid for the stay in FULL before arriving, but ended up not going to this Bed & Breakfast due to a foot injury.
- I also cancelled through Booking.com. I did not mind paying the 135 CHF and not going; I couldn't care less about 135 CHF when my foot was almost broken.
- 8 months later: On February 7, 2026, my card was MANUALLY charged on a PIN terminal by the owner, Stefan Batt, from Am Pavillon.
- I have had zero contact with this person, EVER. I have also NEVER visited Bern.
- I directly contacted Booking.com, froze my card at Wise, and filed a police report in The Netherlands against the owner, Stefan Batt.
- I NEVER shared my credit card details outside of Booking.com with the B&B. So Stefan Batt, the owner of Am Pavillon, wrote my credit card details down manually from the Booking.com extranet (which is strictly against Booking.com's own policy for merchants; they are NOT allowed to write this down from their system).
- After all of this, the Booking.com user here on Reddit LIED and never contacted me. Neither did anybody from customer support (only after I spammed the shait out of them).
UPDATE:
- On March 31, 2026, Stefan Batt AGAIN tried to charge 135 CHF to my already frozen Wise credit card.
- The scammer Stefan Batt AGAIN tried this via MANUAL entry in Bern, Switzerland.
- I have again had ZERO contact with this scammer, Stefan Batt, ever in my life.
See the attached PROOF of the police report (proces-verbaal) for credit card fraud that I filed in February 2026 against Stefan Batt.
- Customer Support at Booking.com has not emailed me back with an update on my questions (WHY my card was MANUALLY charged) since February 2026. It is now MAY 2026.
Takeaway:
- NEVER book with Booking.com. This B&B is ranked very high on Booking, and Booking earns money on these merchants advertising their B&Bs, which is why they do not want to remove this scammer.
P.S. I also added a screenshot of a review on Booking.com for this B&B where the owner, Stefan Batt, put his hands on a woman from Germany. If you are a woman: DO NOT BOOK HERE!!
NEXT STEPS - ANY SUGGESTIONS I CAN DO FROM THE NETHERLANDS?:
- Since I work in Tech & Compliance, I have EVERYTHING crystal clear documented, and planning to make a YouTube video, Tiktok video.
- Also it's not deformation if you are telling the truth backed up with police reports, and evidences. Also since I work in the legal space, I'm very comfortable moving to Switzerland Bern next year, since I am Dutch, and I will file a police report in Bern, Switzerland after my relocation to Switzerland. Since this will be within the same jurisdiction , the police WILL pick this up.
- For now this is all "allegedly".

The more victims I can include in the lawsuit at the police station in Bern once I relocate to Bern, Switzerland, the better. It will proof the pattern of fraudulent credit card use. In this lawsuit I will include Booking.com as well, since they provided my credit card to the merchant from their extranet, and their merchant breached their policy.
