[contamination] worried I didn’t do this process correctly

Alright long story short. Ordered some all in one bags and they were all clearly contaminated besides one that was questionable. I still decided to inoculate it with 10cc of golden teacher (LC). I then decided I’m just gonna make my own spawn grain, can’t be that hard right???

So I thought…

I’m going to detail my process and things I am worried about and curious if anyone with experience has some insight. All critiques welcomes. I’m just worried I put in a lot of time and money into this and it might not even work.

Alright, my process

  1. Created a filter with 3 layers of micropore tape and used 100% silicone on the other hole to act as my self-healing injection port.

  2. I boiled organic rye grain to al dente and let it drain, then filled my mason jars to around 80% full.

  3. Loosely put the lids on and covered with tinfoil then popped in my instapot pressure cooker. I made a makeshift stand for them out of an aluminum pie pan by poking a bunch of holes in it. I put a couple cups of water in and the jars were raised above it without touching.

  4. I used the sterilization function on my instapot for 2 hours and let it depressurize naturally over an hour or so.

  5. When I took them out the micropore tape was definitely damp which is my main concern, I thought the tinfoil was supposed to prevent this? I’m not totally sure

  6. I waited for them to cool down and sprayed/wiped em with 70% IPA and inoculated each with 2.5 cc of LC. (They are pints). They were still somewhat warm when I inoculated bringing me to my second worry that they weren’t cooled off enough before I injected the LC.

  7. Got them all chillin in a dark warm closet of about 72-75 degrees
