U-Verse DVR fix
Yes, I still have U-Verse. My wife likes it and we get an AT&T retiree discount. I was having a problem with the DVR (Arris VIP 2262) where it would not stop at the correct spot when FF or rewinding and sometimes would skip some of the dialogue, and then the other day it would not re-boot. I didn't want to try the disaster recovery and lose all of our recordings, so I figured what the heck and decided to open up the box.
4 screws need to be removed on the bottom of the box. 2 of them are under the adhesive rubber pads. Slide off the top and there is a SATA solid state drive. I cleaned the contacts on the drive and socket and put it back together. Plugged it in and it booted up right away. All recordings intact AND it now works better than ever. All of the problems mentioned are gone. Before it was very sluggish but now is very quick.
