End of an era: My last month on Jio’s ₹249 prepaid plan 😔➡️ Switching to ₹799 now

This month is officially going to be my last month using Jio’s ₹249 prepaid recharge plan. Looks like it has been completely discontinued now — can’t find it anymore on the MyJio app or even at nearby Jio stores.

Honestly, this was one of the most value-for-money plans for light-to-moderate users like me. Affordable, simple, and did the job perfectly without forcing higher recharges.

Now I’ll most likely shift to the ₹799 prepaid plan instead. The only small relief is that I’m getting a flat 1% instant discount on the recharge, so at least there’s something back 😅

Still feels weird seeing another budget plan disappear. Telecom prices just keep moving upward slowly.

Anyone else here was using the ₹249 plan regularly?

What plan are you switching to now?

Did you know? Delhi Metro One Card is available at all stations, and you can refuse the Airtel NCMC Card.

Hey everyone,

Just a quick heads-up for those using the Delhi Metro. The Delhi Metro One Card is available at every metro station across Delhi. If a customer care representative tries to pressure you into purchasing the Airtel NCMC Card, remember that they cannot force you to do so.

You have the right to simply refuse and ask to purchase only the Delhi Metro One Card. If needed, you can escalate the matter by contacting the Station Manager at the station you're at.

You can find the contact numbers for station managers here: https://delhimetrorail.com/contact-us.

If you’re planning to recharge your Jio prepaid plan for ₹799, here’s a neat trick to save a bit:

Open the Hubble App (Android).

Purchase an Amazon Pay Gift Card worth ₹799 for just ₹791.01 (flat 1% instant discount).

Apply the gift card balance in your Amazon App.

Do your Jio recharge through Amazon Pay and pay using the gift card balance.

Effectively, you’re getting your ₹799 recharge for ₹791.01. Not a huge amount, but hey—every rupee saved counts!

Jio has officially removed the ₹249 prepaid recharge plan. It was already gone from the MyJio app for months and was only available through My Jio Stores, but as of now, it’s completely discontinued everywhere. I personally checked at multiple Jio Stores — it’s gone.

The ₹209 plan has also been removed from the MyJio app (it used to be under the Value section) and is no longer available in stores either.

If you’re looking for a decent replacement, the ₹799 prepaid plan is still available under the Value section in the MyJio app, and honestly, it’s the only one I’d recommend right now.

Anyone else noticing Jio slowly killing off all the budget plans?

Just finished recharging the ₹249 Jio prepaid plan again, and it went through without any issues. Honestly, for the price, the combo of data + unlimited calls still feels like one of the more reliable options out there.

Anyone else sticking with this plan long‑term, or have you switched to something better value lately? Curious what others are using.
