Taking lessons, husband contradicting at times
My retired husband is a good golfer and I recently found time to take lessons so we can play together. We have been happily married for 30+ years.
Yesterday, I was out practicing chipping and he kept telling me what I was doing wrong. I tried his method and was constantly topping the ball. I went back to my instructor’s method and was able to connect well about 75% of the time.
Chipping is hard for me, but I know what I’m doing wrong. My husband is not usually impatient, but I could tell he was annoyed. He still was giving me contradictory instruction.
When we play the 9-hole course near home, he doesn’t give me any golf swing instructions, but at the practice areas he likes to watch and instruct. This is not making golf fun. I think I should practice on my own. We like going out together though, and usually hang at the clubhouse patio afterwards.
