Last week, grilled tomato and cheese (and cheese sticks)

They were both really good. Although the sandwich was visually not very appealing, it tasted great.

The “not Bosco” sticks are always really good. The dipping sauce was a little thin, but I was the first one through the lunch line, so maybe that’s why.

I’ve lived in this area for over 20 years and I’ve never experienced a tree pollen season this bad.

It’s bad enough that I am not only coughing, sneezing and have red itching eyes….have also developed a pleural friction rub. Yeah the squeaky sound you usually hear in respiratory patients! Not only that, I’ve developed minor incontinence secondary to uncontrollable coughing. So that’s fun.

Luckily, I’m a nurse and I know enough to take Mucinex and loratadine and Tylenol and ibuprofen. It doesn’t eliminate the problem, but it helps me get through the day. This is week three of this too.

I’m also having to medicate family members, one of whom has never had tree pollen allergies in their entire life, so this is a very, very very bad tree pollen year.

Hang in there people, and if anyone has advice I’d love some.

They were serving macaroni and cheese or vegetarian chili…

… and I was like man I wish I could have half-and-half.

Then I thought well I could just ask if I could do that worse they could do they might say no.

I asked, and they said YES!

It was delicious.
