Thoughts on Rebecca Klingel

i've had this opinion for a while now, seems like a good time to say it: Rebecca Klingel/CK Walker is not a good writer and I mean that with no disrespect, genuinely.

hunter and isaiah have read like five of her works. the only one i even consider good and impactful is Borrasca parts I-IV, and even that story has some diminishing returns in regards to the ending. still great though, stuck with me for a while, and was monumental in the success of this podcast. good episode that i return to often.

mayhem mountain was forgettable. i actually really enjoyed the first half of whitefall. i thought its setup was immersive and grounded until it lost the plot. deepwoods was disappointing. and Borrasca V...i don't think i need to comment on that one.

so, whenever the boys glaze her and her work, it leaves me confused. but hey, of course that is only my opinion.

side note: they should really branch out to some classic horror works to change the pace a bit. some stephen king short stories or something.

side-side note: my top 5 stories read by the boys so far, just for some context for my opinion and what DOES work for me.

  1. Penpal

  2. Left-Right Game

  3. 1999

  4. Borrasca I-IV

  5. Spire in the Woods
