Rant- Gave 7 back to back interviews and got failed

I just gave 7 interviews for a senior PM role at a very successful US company. I knew i nailed every single round. I underperformed in 1 round where the recruiter misinformed the competencies and in another round i did not start the interview fluently but picked up soon. I was expecting 2/7 interviews might show negative feedback but i was sure the other 5 would be positive

What surprised me was that the final result said negative reviews for almost every interview with non-product stakehokder. Which i just don’t think is possible. They asked me behavioural- i answered behavioural. They asked how i would scale - i identified highest revenue source , prioritised the largest source and gave the growth levers. Whatever they threw at me i handled. Every interviewer was positive during the interaction, their follow up qsns did not suggest any dissatisfaction or concern. But the recruiter told me everybody felt i was not good enough in every aspect. The 3 product leads i interviewed with felt i was good enough but agreed to the feedback of non product stakeholders. I am still floored by the amount of difference in the interview reaction and final feedback every interviewer gave.

I have given permission for them to use AI note taking and transcribing during the process. I believe they used the transcript to evaluate me and that resulted in a level of perfectionism that is not realistic. If something even remotely smells off during the process, an empathetic PM can sense it. But i only felt positive.

I recommend you guys to opt out of AI if you can. Especially with non-product stakeholders who don’t know shit about what PMs do.

▲ 106 r/Adenium

A nursery by the highway was selling these adeniums. They are 7 years old. Flowering profusely. Extremely cheap for the way they are grown.
