Docking station/KVM that takes 2 USB-C inputs
Hello all,
I'm ripping my hair out, trying to find a solution for this.
My current setup is fairly simple:
- 1x Monitor
- 1x Mouse
- 1x Keyboard
- Work laptop
- Personal Mac Mini
- (and to connect all of them "together") an HP USB-C Mini dock (this one in particular) that I kept from my previous job.
My pain, is simple. Every time I want/need to use my personal Mac Mini I need to unplug the dock from the laptop and then connect it to the Mac, and vice-versa.
All I'm looking for is something similar do the dock in question, but that allows me to connect it both my work laptop and Mac Mini at the same time, via USB-C. I've found some KVM switches but most (almost all) required that for one (or both) of the computers I provide the video via HDMI, separately (looking at you, UGREEN).
I don't need fancy specs. I just need something that has:
- 2x usb-c inputs (for everything but power, as I can just connect the laptop charger to the laptop itself)
- 2x USB-A ports fort the KB + Mouse
- 1x HDMI output (HDMI 2.0 would be ideal, but not necessary)
The closest thing I could find to this is this kvm from SIIG, that seems to be the answer to all my troubles. My problem is that while Amazon lists it for around 100 USD, I live in the EU and for some reason they cost 200 EUR here.
Is there anything out there that can solve this issue, that doesn't bankrupt me in the process?
Cheers!
