Advice / information

Picked up this 1987 ford f250 for free today. 6.9 idi, C6 auto, 2wd. Decent tires, good body, nice interior and 160k miles i couldn't refuse. Problem is, im a chevy guy. Owned and currently own only 70s-90s gas chevys, currently working a 92 k2500. Ive also never worked on any diesels in my life. This truck was used to explore the pnw, but is surprisingly rust free. Issue is, it was parked and hasnt moved since ~2019. Getting a key cut for ignition soon, looking fot advice on what to check/ do before first start in 7 years! Thanks.
