abaya styles?
hi girlies! i've been wearing an abaya since i was 15 - my mom basically forced me into it, and i dont have any kind of resentment around it or anything because i understand that she did it with good intentions, but as a result ive developed some kind of self consciousness around style
she's the type who thinks the purpose of abaya is to cover so much that you have no room for style left - her idea of style is different colored abayas, which is boring and it makes me feel like i have no personality or anything left to show in my clothes. honestly its very hard when everyone around me gets to dress up and ive never had that kinda chance. i'm very glad i wear it, but it's also become a test of sorts
anyway, so ive decided i don't care for her opinion anymore and am trying to step out from under my mom's grip and get more abayas that have a different look than just a boring old coat, that look fashionable and stylish while also serving the purpose. so please drop your favorite abaya styles/modest clothing that also duals as abayas so that i can redo my wardrobe!
