I will be hosting a cleanup event in San Jose on 4/11. Come to help make a difference and meet new friends.
Hello gorgeous human friends of penguins (and enemies),
One of my goals for this year is to host a few cleanup events. I am pleased to announce a cleanup event in San Jose that will take place on Saturday (4/11). The cleanup will occur at Orchard Park. It is located at Orchard Park Dr. and Oakland Rd.
There is hella trash along Coyote Creek that I would like to get cleaned up. A local resident sent me pictures of the area and you can see how bad it is.
Regarding supplies, I will provide the following.
- 10+ pairs of nitrate gloves
- 3 Needlestick resistant (ANSI level 5) gloves (limited and if necessary)
- 100 33 gallon 2 mil clear bags
- 5 trash grabbers
- 3 trash tongs
- 10 reflective vests (optional)
I only have so much grabbers. If you can come with your own, that would be fantastic and greatly appreciated. I hope to have enough grabbers next time. Click here for my recommendations on tools.
We will have a pizza party afterwards at Orchard Park that is paid for through my past cleanups! You see, I try my best to recycle as much as I can, so over time I have accumulated some cash, which will help fund the pizza. If you have allergies, please let me know ASAP.
Sadly the event will only be from 9a - 11a. I will need to leave by 11:30a because I need to go to Oakland for some unfinished business.
So to recap, the event details are listed below.
- We will meet up at Orchard Park in San Jose, CA. It is located at Orchard Park Dr. and Oakland Rd.
- The event will take place on 4/11, a Saturday, from 9a - 11a.
- There will be drinks, including water, and snacks during the cleanup, followed by a pizza party.
- You MUST sign a physical waiver.
