
My Ideas for the Inventory Update!
These are my ideas aiming to help mitigate the inventory issue:
Inventory Layout:
Slot count remains the same, but the off-hand slot is moved to the left, player model is bigger, and crafting portion is nice and centered.
Stack sizes:
I updated stack sizes as the item count and build sizes massively increased over the years.
Items: 64 (stays the same)
Blocks: 256
Arrows: 512
Pearls, Eggs, Snowballs, etc: 16
Now for the elephant in the room: Toolbar!
Each hotbar slot has a toolbar, meaning you can place three different tools to occupy one slot, given how many tools and weapons were added over the years.
You'd interact with it exactly like with a bundle, hover to pop-up the window, scroll to cycle between tools.
This effectively gives you up to 27 hotbar slots, the only limitation is that only tools and blocks can take advantage of the Toolbar, to prevent it being overpowered for PVP, etc.
I'm unsure about this change but i was thinking of items in the toolbar sharing durability damage when one of the tools is used, to balance it out a bit.
What is the purpose of a toolbar?
To save space and allow you to keep your Fortune and Silk Touch tools in the same slot, rather than keeping them in the inventory where they take precious space.
