Bucket of Rice

I had bought a 25# bucket of emergency food rice a year or so ago. It wasnt individually wrapped, but just a big bucket o' rice. Kinda ticked me off cause once I open it, its pretty much exposed and will probably waste a lot.

Been thinking about opening it, to vacuum seal some more reasonable portions for emergency use.

If I opened it to vacuum seal smaller portions, what should i do to better ensure it's longevity storage, especially since I will break the seal on the bucket?

FWIW: this brand is a common emergency food bucket supplier, and everythign else I have purchased has been in reasonable proportions. I wasnt expecting it to be 25# thrown in the bucket. Kinda disappointing.

FREE online Dog house plans generator?

Does anyone know of a site that I can goto, input doghouse dimensions, and creates plans and material lists based on dimensions, that is free to use? Seems like this modern era of AI would have something, but I just dont see anything.

Tulsa weather app options

Read recently that ktul is moving to koki studios, and have noticed their weather apps are same. No sense in having the same fron same studio, so, what weather apps are you using for real time accurate radar of Tulsa (aside from KTUL and KOKI)?

Prefer one with overlays of watches/warnings and obviously tornado tracking.

Diet - homemade foods and store brand kibble

We are getting our next mastiff in a few weeks. We have had 2 previously, and they lived for nearly 12 years and had good lives til the end. We usually fed them store branded kibble and they did well with it.

This time, since I am retired, I have more time and am considering making homemade and work for nutrition, especially for joint health as that was really the hard part for both our previous family.

Is anyone making their own food, and if so, do you have a receipe that works? Is it economical (as much as feeding 180 #s can be)? What dry kibble have you found to be a quality store brand?

I want to make this time better, but I know costs have skyrocketed since before, so economics are a concern and am looking for the best way to approach it.

California peach growers crop destruction

Guess never really thought about intentional food source destruction en masse, because of contracts and agreements. So, with a large reduction in peach tree destruction because of Del Monte bancruptcy, I would suspect this to increase prices of peaches, but I am sure this happens more than I realized, and is example that not every shortage is environmental or collapse, but of our own making.

I have a 1+ year old female MC, black smoke. After every meal of Fancy Feast gravy, she gets the zoomies and acts crazy...like she sees sounds and hears colors 😁. She mats her fur terribly, not like my other MC.

I am starting to question if it is zoomies at all. Could it be allergies associated with the fancy feast, and her craziness it itching, and that's why she mats her fur trying to scratch?

Our other MC, same age, 1/2 sister blue, doesn't act this way at all, doesn't matter dur, and no zoomies. They are night and day different, but both love fancy feast gravy (and eat nulo dry on demand).

What would I look for in allergy?
