Buying New Ram 2500 Warranty Questions
TLDR Local Dealership says they aren't new, RAM says they have no warranty, Carvana says they are both crazy. Does the warranty work?
I've been looking into purchasing a NEW Ram 2500 and decided to go to some local dealers to see if they could match or beat Carvana prices on new trucks.
First dealer said they can't do it and gave me there lowest offer, around $2k more. Salesman looked at it and said buy from them.
Decided to check out a larger dealer and do the same, this is when things got odd. The salesman acted shocked by the concept claiming he never heard of it and there is no way they are selling new. He went to his GM(normal sales tactic) and came back with they are all hail damage vehicles being sold 3rd party as new. He told me they would not do any warranty work on them at local dealerships so if I bought it and something happened I'd be out of luck.
Didn't believe them but thought I would call RAM and see what they had to say. For ahold of support through their website phone number. The rep I talked to was helpful but had never heard of Carvana selling new vehicles. He then asked for the VIN of the one I was looking at and pulled it up, Warranty is expired. We checked 4 other VIN # all with the same results. He then told me to avoid Carvana and buy local.
Called Carvana and talked to there new buying team. They assured me they are new, no hail damage, and on a RAM lot in AZ. Recommended I buy it, bring it to a dealer and check the warranty then. If I have an issue return on the 7 day window.
Has anyone purchased a new 2026 RAM from Carvana and had to use the warranty? What was the experience like?
