In Sonora, no login is required. You can filter AI music results from YouTube and search and listen (without interruptions) by artist (YouTube Music), mood, or genre. The platform makes an auto mix. It is mainly focused on desktop use via web app, Chrome extension, or Firefox add-on. You can also use it as a PWA app on Android if you use Chrome. It works as a search platform and also as a chatbot where you can request more information about an artist or check similar artists. I use it every day and I don’t miss Spotify.

I think it’s cool if you’re looking for a free alternative with no login required and anonymous browsing, and you can find everything because it uses YouTube Music’s catalog for artists.

It is also a non-profit project for promoting indie artists. We are musicians and we know it is really difficult to get heard on the main streaming platforms, so the idea is to select new artists and promote them above the results of mainstream artists and genres. We also give them a PWA app for their music. The idea is to change the artists’ model, which we think is not fair.
Sonora is in beta version (although it already has global recurring users every day) and we will add more features in the future. All feedback is welcome.

For a while, I was getting annoyed that when searching for music on YouTube, the results were full of clutter: lots of AI-generated tracks, low-quality covers, reaction videos, unofficial clips, etc. So I built a Firefox extension to fix this.

What does it do exactly?

• Automatically filters out results that are not the original song by the artist
• Shows how many tracks it has filtered (e.g., “filtered 12 AI results”)
• Uses the YouTube Music API, it’s lightweight and doesn’t store your data
• Lets you search by genre, artist, or mood (song search coming soon)
• It’s free, obviously

I’ve been testing it, and it works especially well for independent or lesser-known artists, who tend to suffer the most from noisy results.

It’s obviously not perfect, but I use it daily to listen to and discover new music. I’d really appreciate feedback from this community. What improvements would you suggest? Do you see any legal or ethical issues I might be overlooking?

Hace tiempo que me molestaba que al buscar música en YouTube aparecieran resultados híbridos: Mucha música IA, covers de mala calidad, reacciones, videoclips no oficiales, etc. Así que hice una extensión para Firefox que soluciona esto.

¿Qué hace exactamente?

- Filtra automáticamente resultados que no son la canción original del artista.

- Te muestra cuántos tracks ha filtrado (ej: "filtrados 12 resultados IA").

- Usa la API de YouTube Music, es ligera y no guarda tus datos.

- Buscas por género, artista o mood. (Por canciones en breve)

- Es gratis, obviamente.

La he estado probando y funciona especialmente bien para artistas independientes o poco conocidos, que son los que más sufren con los resultados basura.

Obviamente no es perfecto, pero lo uso diariamente para escuchar y descubrir nueva musica. Me encantaría feedback de esta comunidad. ¿Qué mejoras haríais? ¿Veis algún problema legal/ético que no esté viendo?
