PSA: be VERY careful when screwing in the rear cover screws

A while ago I swapped SSDs in my Ally X with one of my other computers (needed a larger SSD for a work project.) Earlier this week I noticed cracking on both sides of the Ally X, as well as near the bottom middle screw on the back plate. My guess is that I screwed in the rear screws a little too tight, and this put stress on the plastic (the places where the plastic cracked are near the screw holes.) The crack on the left side of the device was particularly bad, it caused the L1 mounting post to break, leaving me with a very annoyingly loose and floppy L1. Unfortunately you can't just replace the front case alone, you have to buy a new LCD along with it. (the LCD is bonded to the front case) Cost me a grand total of $200 + shipping and an afternoon's worth of time to perform a full case swap (not particularly difficult to do, just very, very tedious and involves lots of tiny little parts and screws.) A somewhat pricy lesson, but at least it's cheaper than a new device, especially with today's ludicrous prices. So don't be me, be very careful when reassembling your device, especially when screwing in the back cover. (Actually be very careful when screwing in ANY screw on the device, some of the internal screw posts are pretty thin and would probably break pretty easily.)

Please don't panic, and please don't jump to conclusions

I was afraid this might happen. When this whole fiasco started I remember thinking to myself that too many people know about localization=1 and that if/when the game came back, that they would probably have to come up with a new method of decensoring.

(It's also possible that this could be a very unfortunately timed accident/error. Stuff like this has happened before, for example, Aether Gazer accidentally shipped the Chinese (censored) version of the art assets in the global download during this week's update.)

Whatever it is, let's give them some time and the benefit of the doubt. They're not stupid, they don't want to ruin their cash cow. I'm sure they will leak the new information soon. We've all waited this long, surely we can wait a few days longer. (oh, and don't call me Shirley)

Of course, if there are any HACKERMEN among us, maybe they can start digging through the game code/files and who knows, maybe they'll find something interesting. Unfortunately that's a little above my pay grade.

Idk why people are complaining, but I actually love the story and the way it's presented. I'm honestly getting sick and tired of game stories where you're immediately thrust into the role of "I'm a superman/superwoman/superbeing and am the last hope for humanity/the universe/etc." Here you're just some dude/gal/person working to help make the city safe from anomalies. And of course that's not THE ONLY THING that you do, because most people actually have lives outside of work. So when you're not finding and fighting anomalies, you're helping your friends, just wandering around, maybe running a business, etc. Really it feels kind of like your typical anime series, where each week the main characters get into some mischief or solve some problem or whatever. In fact the game even literally calls them "episodes." And I'm sure that eventually some Big Nefarious Plot(tm) will be revealed, just like how in most animes, the characters aren't immediately aware of the great evil, but gradually grow aware of it as each episode occurs. I just hope that when that occurs, that they won't stop with the pacing, i.e. in between bouts of dealing with The Great Evil(tm) they do other things, have comedic interludes, etc. Just like how in anime series, where there is the huge task that everyone is working to complete over the course of the season, but they also have occasional "filler" episodes for comedic relief and/or to break up the tension, plus the obligatory beach and/or hot spring visit, etc.

I've played a lot of the open-world and semi-open-world games, but NTE feels the most "vibrant" and "alive" to me. Idk what it is, if it's the color palette? Or if it's the music? Or the vibe? Or a combination of the above? Also the NPCs feel more like actual characters, it feels to me like there are more than the usual 3 or 4 recycled designs, and they actually seem to be doing stuff other than just walking around the same path forever and ever. Last night I was just walking around, doing nothing in particular, just exploring, and it reminded me a lot of when I visited Japan many years ago. Yes there are still some rough edges and bugs (though none of them seem game breaking, at least to me) but I have really been enjoying my time with the game. It is just me and/or the honeymoon phase and/or nostalgia talking, or am I maybe onto something?
