An update to the Minecraft Grande Prairie project

Original post

This is a 0.6 scale autogenerated map of the entire city of Grande Prairie, rendered in Minecraft. It was generated using a program called Arnis, which is an open-source piece of software that creates maps using OpenStreetMap geospatial data. It uses real elevation data for topography.

I have done extensive work to expand on the project since I last posted. Mostly on roads (the autogen ones are either too small or have improper markings, or don't have the correct number of lanes etc) but many real buildings have been reconstructed on the autogen footprints.

This is a work in progress, with more posts to come.

I have been working on this for a little while and couldn't resist the urge to share. It is NOWHERE near done but I do have this little section of downtown upgraded to a more realistic standard (the autogen is pretty generic and boring).

This is a work in progress and there will be more posts in the future following the progress of my project.
